The farm, located outside Yarrow BC, on a road that winds along Vedder Mountain, grows Classical Heritage Chickens and Ducks.

Polderside Farms philosophy is to raise their poultry in a low density, stress-free environment, feeding them a natural diet of grains and vegetables. The farm supplies product to more than 65 restaurants and retail stores in BC.
Two places on the west end of Vancouver to carry "Polderside RedBro Chicken" are Market Meats and Windsor Packing.

Then: Watch for the Grand opening of "Lou's Butcher Shoppe" selling "Polderside RedBro Chicken and Sunflower Duck".
Is Vancouver ready to go "nose to tail"? The restauranteurs behind Two Chefs and a Table think so. They're getting ready to open "Big Lou's Butcher Shop and Deli" later this month at the corner of Powell and Gore in Strathcona, across from Sunrise Market.
The butcher shop and deli will feature organic, free-range meats from around the province, and all of the meat will be butchered on-site. The phrase nose to tail means every part of the animal will be used for something, whether its sausage or stocks. There will be seating for 12 for lunch, plus take-away meals along with the butcher shop. The room will be an old-school, 30s butcher shop theme, and promises to be a lunch hot spot, along with the convenience of a locally-sourced, organic butcher shop--obviously!!!

The couple, married for many years, have always farmed together and grown their own food. Virginia has always lived on a farm, while her husband took up farming after coming to Canada from Norway. They moved to the Lower Mainland from Vancouver Island, where they had a mixed farm with a large greenhouse which grew produce for BC Hot House. They have always raised animals for their own food, but not commercially. They recognized consumers were longing for "old fashioned" food, and decided to follow the trends so popular in Europe and other parts of the world.
